Eligibility Criteria
A monthly assistance of Rs. 3000/- is paid to the close relative, guardian or relative who is taking care of the orphaned children who are studying and whose mother and father are both deceased or whose father is deceased and the mother has remarried. This assistance is paid through DBT.
Children between the ages of 0 and 18 years whose parents are not alive or whose father is dead and whose mother has remarried have been included in this scheme.
A certificate from the Magistrate stating that the annual income of the foster parents is more than Rs. 27,000/- in rural areas and more than Rs. 36,000/- in urban areas must be submitted with the application.
Children between the ages of 3 and 6 who are taken in for upbringing by foster parents are to be admitted to Anganwadi and children above the age of 6 are to be provided with compulsory school education.
The applicant's guardian must submit a certificate from the school/institution stating that studies are ongoing every year.

Foster Parent Scheme is being implemented for the care of orphaned children under the Social Security Division under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat. This assistance is provided through DBT with a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 3000/- per child till the age of 18 years.
Eligibility:
(1) Orphaned and destitute children between the ages of 0 and 18 years
(2) Children aged 0 to 18 years with one parent (children whose father is deceased and mother has remarried can also get the benefit of this scheme.)
Examples to be included with the application form
Copy of child's birth certificate/LC
Death certificate of the child's parents and a marriage certificate stating that the mother has remarried.
Certificate from the Program Officer for a child attending an Anganwadi and from the school principal for a child attending school
Joint bank account of child and foster parent
Xerox copy of the foster parents' Aadhar card, ration card, and voter ID card
Income certificate of Talati-cum-Minister/ Mamlatdar/ Taluka Development Officer (more than Rs. 36,000 for urban area and more than Rs. 27,000 for rural area)
A joint photo of the child with the foster parents and a passport size photo of the child
Certificate of relationship between Talati or Sarpanch and foster parents
When is the benefit of the scheme not eligible?
(1) Upon the beneficiary's discontinuation of studies, (2) Upon the beneficiary's completion of 18 years of age,
(3) Due to the accidental death of the beneficiary.
