SIR Special Intensive Revision Process Forms and Matdar Yadi Download
The time has come for every citizen of Gujarat to engage in one of the most significant democratic exercises of our state the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. This exercise, being carried out by the Election Commission of India in Gujarat, aims to ensure that every eligible voter is counted, and only genuine entries remain on the electoral roll.
What is this exercise about?
In simple terms, SIR is a comprehensive revision of the voter list in our state. Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every house, distribute enumeration forms, help existing voters verify their data, and assist new eligible voters to register.
The timeline is clearly laid out: training of officers, house-to-house verification, draft roll publication, claims/objections, and finally the publication of the final roll after complite SIR.
Why is this important?
Democracy thrives when every eligible person is given the chance to vote, and when invalid entries (duplicates, ineligible names) are removed. The SIR aims for both—to include the missing and exclude the invalid.
For Gujarat in particular, voters are to be covered by more BLOs.
With upcoming local body elections and ultimately state-level elections, a clean and accurate roll ensures fairness, transparency and trust in the process.
What does it mean for you as a voter?
If you are already registered, check your name and details.
If you are not registered yet but eligible (18+ years old, ordinary resident of a constituency) you can apply to be included.
Ensure the data in your enumeration form is correct (name, address, age, etc.). The BLO will help you fill or update the form.
Don’t miss the deadlines: the verification, claims, objections need to be completed in time so the final list can be published.
Special care will be taken for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women and others who may need assistance.
Key steps ahead
1. House-to-house visits where BLOs deliver forms and collect responses.
2. Publication of draft electoral roll.
3. Period for claims/objections. Then hearings and verifications.
4. Final electoral roll release after all work done.
What you as a citizen can do now
Be ready and responsive when a BLO visits your home. Cooperate with them, fill/verify the form.
If you know someone who is eligible but not registered (newly-turned 18, recently moved, etc.), help them check.
Spread the word in your community: link neighbours, friends and family to the process so no one is left out.
Use official resources to check your name and polling station once the draft kicks in.
Be informed and alert: ensuring the integrity of the voter list is everyone’s responsibility.
